Research Faculty and Postdocs


Qingyu Liu

Qingyu Liu is currently a Postdoctoral Associate at the Bradley Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Virginia Tech. His supervisor is Prof. Tom Hou. He received his Ph.D. degree from Virginia Tech in 2019 under the supervision of Prof. Haibo Zeng. He received his M.S. degree from Tsinghua University (China) in 2014 and his B.S. degree from Qingdao University (China) in 2011. He was a Visiting Student at at The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2017 and worked with Prof. Minghua Chen. His research interests are optimization and algorithm design in the fields of network communication and transportation.

 


Graduate Students


Yan Huang

Yan Huang is currently a Ph.D. student supervised by Professor Tom Hou in the Bradley Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Virginia Tech. He received his B.S. degree and M.S. degree both in electrical engineering from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT), Beijing, China, in 2012 and 2015, respectively. He received his B.S. degree in Economics from Peking University, Beijing, China, in 2014. His current research focuses are in optimization and algorithm design for wireless networks.


 

YongCe

Yongce Chen received his B.S. degree and M.S. degree both in Electrical Engineering from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT), Beijing, China, in 2013 and 2016, respectively. He is currently a Ph.D. student supervised by Professor Tom Hou in the Bradley Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Virginia Tech. His current research interests are optimization and algorithm design for wireless networks.


 

Wenhai Sun

Chengzhang Li is currently a Ph.D. student supervised by Professor Tom Hou in the Bradley Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Virginia Tech. He received his B.S. degree in Electronics Engineering from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 2017. His current research interests are optimization and algorithm design for wireless networks.


 

XIAO Yang

Yang Xiao is a Ph.D. student in the ECE Department at Virginia Tech, supervised by Prof. Wenjing Lou. He received his B.S. degree from the EE Department at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and M.S. degree from the ECE Department at University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. His research interests lie in network security, wireless security, and big data security.


 

Li

Shaoran Li received his B.S. degree from Southeast University, Nanjing, China, in 2014 and M.S. degree from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT), Beijing, China in 2017. Currently, he is a Ph.D. student at Virginia Tech supervised by Professor Tom Hou. His research interests are algorithm design and implementation for wireless networks.


 

Li

Ning Wang received the B.E. degree in communication engineering from the Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Beijing, China, in 2015, where she also received the M.S. degree in electronics and communication engineering in 2018. She is currently pursuing the Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Virginia Tech under the supervision of Prof. Wenjing Lou. Her research interests include modeling and analysis of cellular networks using stochastic geometry and cyber security.


 

Li

Lei Li is currently a Ph.D. student supervised by Professor Tom Hou in the Bradley Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Virginia Tech. He received his M.S. degree in Information and Communication Engineering from Beijing Institute of Technology in 2017, and a B.E. in Communication Engineering from Beijing Jiaotong University in 2014. His current research interests are optimization and algorithm design for wireless networks.

Shanghao Shi received his B.E. degree in communication engineering from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Beijing, China in 2019. Currently, he is a Ph.D. student at Virginia Tech supervised by Prof. Wenjing Lou. His research interests include wireless network security and cyber physical security.

Yang Hu received the B.E. degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the Beihang University, Beijing, China, in 2019. She is currently pursuing the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science at Virginia Tech under the supervision of Prof. Wenjing Lou. Her research interests mainly include security and privacy aspects of machine learning: machine learning for better security/privacy; attacks on ML systems: understanding vulnerabilities of the system and making it more robust.

Yubo Wu received both B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT), China, in 2016 and 2019, respectively. He is currently a Ph.D. student at the Bradley Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA. His supervisor is Prof. Tom Hou. His current research interests are optimization algorithms design for wireless networks and GPU-based real-time radar signal processing for autonomous vehicles.
